Greenwood girls golf state championships were held at Marion, Ark. and played at The Greens Golf Course on October 1-2. Greenwood is the defending 6A state champions from last year and is trying to defend its title. After the first day, Greenwood was behind Jonesboro by 9 strokes and Marion by 6 strokes. The first day of 6A state tournament is also used to determine who wins the conference championship as well. Jonesboro was the low round, so they were conference champs. Also that day are chosen the all-conference players for the 6A East Conference. For Greenwood Lundon Williams and Katie Latta were selected to this team. After the first day the teams scores were Jonesboro 264, Marion 267, Greenwood 273, Siloam Springs 278, Searcy 282, Benton 295, Mt Home 317, and El Dorado 318. On day two only half of the team qualify to move onto the second day of competition. After the second day of play Greenwood held onto their 3rd spot for the final finish. Team totals overall were Marion 530, Jonesboro 539, Greenwood 555, and Siloam Springs 581. For Greenwood, Lundon Williams had a 82-90, Katie Latta 87-96, Lexie Adams 104-96, Arabelle Marvin 115-115, and Bethany Dixon 127-120. Lundon Williams was selected to the All-State team for 6A girls state golf for the third year in a row. Good year girls! Williams finished 6th overall while Latta finished 9th.
