Brandon Richardson has been awarded the Brandon Burlsworth Memorial Scholarship to pursue an education at the University of Arkansas. The Brandon Burlsworth Memorial Scholarship was established for the perpetuation of the memory of Brandon Burlsworth, who was an athlete and scholar at the University of Arkansas.

Richardson is a 1998 graduate of Greenwood High School.

Before his enrollment at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, he honorably served 12 years in the USAF as an Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) Technician. While serving six tours in the Middle East, he received two Bronze Star medals.

In the summer of 2012 he interned with USDA, Natural Resources Conversation Service (NRCS) at Conway, Ark. Presently, he is an intern with DP Engineering LLC at Arkansas Nuclear One in Russellville, Ark.

Richardson will resume his studies in the fall at the U of A. His anticipated graduation date is December 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He is a member of Chi Epsilon, National Civil Engineering Honor Society.

He is the son of Danny and Reva Richardson of Greenwood. Brandon Richardson currently lives in Fayetteville with his wife, Andrea. She is employed with Walmart Realty of Walmart U.S., a division of Walmart Stores, Inc. in Bentonville, Ark.
