The Greenwood Art Guild hosted a guest speaker for their April guild meeting. Pat Lappin, a local artist from Fort Smith, spoke to guild members about how to select a color plan before starting a piece of artwork. Guild members thoroughly enjoyed learning from Pat as she spoke about color harmonies and stressed breaking away from copying the colors on a photo.

Ms. Lappin has been painting for over 40 years in many mediums. She lived in Fairfield, CT for 25 years, painting and teaching painting. She was elected member of the Silvermine Guild of Artist and taught at the Greenwich Art Society. Pat and her husband moved to this area in 1996. She is currently a signature member of ANA, Artist of Northwest Arkansas, and teaches painting and gives workshops in the area. Some of her classes are held at Hobby Lobby. The Greenwood Art Guild meets every 4th Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. at the main branch of Farmers Bank. The next meeting is scheduled for May 23. The meeting will be creating color charts as a means to further solidify what was taught by Pat Lappin.
