The Greenwood Garden Club and the Federated Garden Clubs are hosting an Essay Contest for grades nine through 12. The Essay is to be entitled " Today’s Choices Affect Tomorrow’s World": The winner of the local contest will receive $25 and will go on to state competition where first place is $100 and second place is $60.The winner goes on to district and national. The National winner receives a $1000 scholarship. The length is to be between 600-700 words. ALL words are counted. It is to be written so that it is suitable to be published. It must include a proposal or project for improving the environment. It should be typed and double spaced. Three copies must be furnished for judging. We suggest that the manuscript be put in a plastic folder. A wallet size photo, name, address, phone number, school attending and grade, list of activities and Greenwood Garden Club should appear on a back page. Deadline for entry is November 10th.
