The Bell Park Foundation had its ground breaking for the new amphitheater on Sunday, before the Shannon Wurst concert. The Bell Park Foundation held the fundraiser concert with the help of sponsors: Greenwood A&P Commission, Johnson Dermatology, Walters, Gaston, Allison & Parker Law Firm, Osborn Agency, Farmers Bank, Phil Hicks Shelter Insurance, and AOG. The Bell Park Foundation was established in 2011 to support and continue developing Bell Park. The Shannon Wurst concert was part of that community effort.

The musical event was enjoyed by many. Wurst has a unique "Folk Americana" sound. She shared stories of her life and bantered with the audience. Two audience members enjoyed dancing to the music as well. Perhaps the most memorable song was the "Natural State" in which she sang about different significant places and facts about Arkansas.

The Bell Park Foundation is selling bricks to be placed in the amphitheater. For more information contact the Bell Park Foundation for prices and specifics. P.O. Box 1144 Greenwood, AR 72936. The foundation is hoping that, "you will help us complete this project, one brick at a time."
