Greenwood has a new Animal Control Officer. Joseph Fowler has the combination of experience that City leaders were looking for in the person tasked with keeping Greenwood safe from stray and possibly dangerous animals.
Fowler lives east of Greenwood, by Lake Jack Nolan, with his wife and six kids. They have many animals, ranging in size from chickens to horses. He has spent his entire life around animals of all types, even raising pittbulls. "I haven’t had to chase down strays yet so this should be interesting," he added, describing his excitement about the new job.
Fowler was layed off from Gerber earlier this year, but was employed by FedEx for nearly a decade before that. He expects to rely heavily on his FedEx experience of finding addresses and dealing with angry customers in his new Animal Control position.
Greenwood’s committment to excellence in both sports and education was one of the reasons Fowler and his family moved here. "The schools here are amazing. I love what they instill in the kids here," he said.
