The 8th Annual Miss GreenwoodPageant was held on April 21st at the Greenwood Performing Arts Center. Young ladies competed from ages 14 mos to 18 years of age. We also added a Mr Greenwood division this year which consisted of the eight Sr Bulldog Baseball players. The Miss Greenwood Pageant is a fundraiser for the Bulldog Baseball team. This year along with raising money for the team we were blessed to give away a total of 3,500.00 in scholarships two of which were the Patti Adair heart and soul scholarships.

Our emcee’ this year was Miss Katie Brown and she was assisted by Greenwood high school junior Miss Callie Scherry. Both Ladies did and excellent job. Miss Blakely McEvoy was crowned your 2018 Miss Greenwood. Mr Jackson Webb was awarded the title of Mr Greenwood. The Teen Miss and Miss Greenwood Contestants have a sit down interview with the judges on the day of the pageant. Earlier in the week all eight Mr Greenwood contestants interviewed with Dr. Dustin Smith the athletic director at Greenwood High School as well as Mr Means Wilkinson of Farmers Bank.

Head baseball coach Trey Holloway also handed out the Sarah Daggs Hard Hat award during the pageant. This award came with a scholarship as well and was given to two senior players this year. Those players were Jake Smith and Cooper Passmore.

The goal of the Miss Greenwood Pageant is to promote character, leadership and confidence. Special thanks goes out to all who competed and participated in any way to make this event successful.
