It’s hard to say good-bye, especially to a sport and teammates you have competed with for years.

Sarah Beth McClellan has been a member of the Greenwood Lady Bulldogs track team for three seasons, and the senior said she’s sad to say good-bye to the team she has grown to love.

McClellan has been competing in the 3,200-meter relay along with other events, but she said the 3,200 relay is her favorite event.

It’s been a good season for the senior, who accomplished her goal of qualifying for the Class 6A state tournament, which will be held on May 7 at Lake Hamilton High School in Pearcy.

The relay team finished sixth in the 7A/6A Central Conference meet in Jonesboro on April 30 to clinch a spot in the state meet. All relay members ran an 800-meter leg under 2:55 for a combined time of 10:37.52.
