The Baldor Electric Company Foundation is honored to award 61 scholarships valued at $228,000 for the 2015/2016 school year to children of its U.S. employees. Since 2010, the Foundation has awarded over $1 million in scholarships to 378 students. Greenwood recipients of this year’s scholarship include Abigail Moore and Christian Griffith.
Abigail Moore, a recent graduate of Greenwood High School, will begin her college career in the fall at Arkansas Tech University where she intends to study Accounting. She is a member of the Varsity Soccer team, FBLA, BETA and National Honor Society, and she has been Student Council Secretary. Abigail is the daughter of Kelly and Dana Moore, and her father works for Baldor in Fort Smith.
Christian Griffith, a recent graduate of Greenwood High School, will begin studying Aerospace Engineering in the fall at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He has been a member of the All-State Choir and All-State Golf team, he’s a First Tee Scholar and an Architecture and Technology Scholar, and he’s been accepted into the OSU College of Engineering as well as the OSU President’s Leadership Council. Christian is the son of Gordon and Michelle Griffith, and his mother works for Baldor in Fort Smith.
