Sixth inning error gives Lady Tigers lead, win 4 – 2

Throughout the first four innings of the game between the Lady Eagles and the Lady Tigers of Mansfield, the score was tied as 0–0 as both teams’ pitchers were sitting down their opponents and both defenses were backing up their pitcher.
Mansfield’s McCay led off the top of the fifth with a walk and then moved to third on Ward’s groundout to third. Cumbie worked Paris’ pitcher and ripped the twelvth pitch of the at bat down the third base line to score McKay and give the Lady Tigers a 1–0 lead. Reano was intentionally walked putting runners at first and second but Paris’ Kailee Johnson worked a strike out and pop up for the next two batters to get out of the inning.
Haley Owen led off the bottom of the fifth with a walk and moved up to third on Morgan Highfield’s double to left field. With two outs on the books and runners in scoring position, Halli Tencleve drew a four pitch walk. Kytan Tencleve came to the plate with the sacks jammed and singled to score both Owen and Highfield and giving the Lady Eagles a 2–1 lead. Kelly Broadbent walked to reload the bases but Johnson got robbed by the Mansfield centerfielder to end the inning.
Three straight hits for the Lady Tigers to begin the sixth inning combined with a couple errors on the Lady Eagles led to three runs for Mansfield and a 4–2 lead that would hold for the remainder of the game.
Paris look as if they were going to make a big comeback in the bottom of the seventh as Hudson led off with a walk, Halli Tencleve singled, and Kytan Tencleve singled but Hudson was thrown out at third leaving runners at first and second. Broadbent then put the ball in play but the Lady Tigers turned a double play to end the inning with Paris not scoring any runs and the game coming to an end.
