Emma Beatrice Jones, 103 of Greenwood died Thursday, August 7, 2014. She was born October 13, 1910 in the Center Valley Community to William and Lucy McLellan. Emma married Webb Jones December 20, 1930; they made their home in Center Valley until 1942. They then moved to Burnville when the U.S. Government acquired their land as part of Fort Chaffee.

Granny Jones, as she was known, was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, embroidering, visiting and telling humorous stories. She was very knowledgeable about family and local history. She was also a member of the Burnville Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Bill Jones and wife, Betty of Greenwood, Jimmy Jones and wife, Alice of Greenwood, Michael Jones and wife, Sandy of Lincoln, AR; three daughters, Danna Haley of Blanchard, LA, Charlotte Chastain of Greenwood and Jennifer Kitchens of Saint Joseph, MI; fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and fifteen great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Webb Jones; son, Wilburn Earl Jones; grandson, David White; and three sons-in-law, Richard Haley, Joe Chastain and Tom Kitchens and great granddaughter, Natasha White.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 11, 2014 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Liberty Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bill, Jimmy, Michael, Tony and La John Jones and Don White.
