Theral “Charlie” Jones, 90, of Greenwood, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 7, 2017 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during World War II and a retired Frisco Railroad employee. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greenwood for 68 years, where he served as a deacon and youth Sunday school teacher. Charlie was one of the four remaining WWII veterans of VFW Post 6527. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Ray Jones; infant son, James Don Jones; parents, Rufus and Ethel Jones; six brothers, twin brother-Terral, Webb, Bud, Wayne, Edwin and Paul and sisters, Esther and Annie.

Funeral service was held at 10 A.M Friday, May 12, 2017, at First Baptist Church Greenwood with burial at Gilliam Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home. Viewing was Thursday from 2-7 P.M. at First Baptist Greenwood where the family visited with friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M.

He is survived by three daughters, Jackie Franks and husband, James of Greenwood, Carolyn Harkreader and husband, Jerry of Loganville, GA and Janet Cox and husband, Jim of Greenwood; one sister, Berma Green of Biloxi, MS; grandchildren, Michelle Landers and husband, Dr. Andrew Landers, Michael Franks and wife, Dr. Amy Franks, Dr. Amber Bass and husband, Dr. Chris Bass, Jonna Osborne and husband, James, Krista Charen and husband, Adam, Jacob Cox and wife, Jenny and Jonathan Cox and eight great grandchildren, Collin Franks, Hayden Franks, Ella Bass, Anna Charen, Sam Charen, Sydney Osborne, Jack Osborne and Coby Cox.

Pallbearers were grandsons and grandsons-in-law. Honorary pallbearers will be Mac Jones and Clyde Holland’s Sunday School Class.
