Jonathan Bass with the Greenwood Police Department carries the torch in a downpour during the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics as he runs along 10 Spur with other runners on Tuesday in Greenwood. After the Greenwood leg of the run, the torch was handed off to the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office, then to finish the Sebastian County leg, the Fort Smith Police Department transferred the torch to the Van Buren Police Department.

Pictured are the runners who completed the first leg of Sebastian County Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Run was held (in a torrential downpour!) Tuesday, May 21st and began at Greenwood Square and finished at Highway 71/10 Spur. The torch was passed through various law enforcement agencies in state and ended up in Searcy on Thursday for the opening of the annual state special Olympic games held at Harding University.
