The artist of the month for March is Teri Hicks. Her artwork will be displayed during the month of March at Greenwood City Hall.

Ms. Hicks enjoys making paper come to life. Her favorite medium is watercolor and ink, but she also enjoys painting with acrylics, oils and pastels. In addition to paper and canvas, she is a mural and textile artist. She is currently working on a series of historic "Main Street Life" watercolors.

Ms. Hicks and her husband, Phil, live in the country with their three dogs. She has four children and five grandchildren. Her grandchildren share her love of art and enjoy their time in the studio creating their own masterpieces.

Ms. Hicks also does commissioned work. She donates paintings to local organizations for fundraising. She is a member of the Greenwood Art Guild, The Greenwood Rotary and the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Hicks has her own website at www.terihicksart.com.

Shirley Rambin will be displaying artwork at BancorpSouth bank for the month of March. Her paintings include the Colorado Rockies, a 16 by 20 oil that depicts snow capped mountains, lakes and evergreen trees, inspired by many trips to Colorado to elk hunt. The second painting is a Key West sunset, a 16 by 20 oil, depicted with brilliant colors.

The Greenwood Art Guild will have their next meeting, Thursday March 27, at 6pm in the community room at Farmers Bank. For more information about the Guild, go to the website at www.greenwoodartguild.com and also follow recent activities on facebook.
