Charlotte Douglas (R) of the Arkansas House of Representatives recently helped the Greenwood Senior Center with a check from the State General Improvement Fund. Every year, the State of Arkansas decides on which community programs to help with State money and how much each will receive.
The Betty Wilkinson Senior Center in Greenwood has received a check for $5263.16. Eva Jones, the director of the center, plans to use the money to upgrade the freezers the center uses for food storage. The current freezers are old and have had many problems including leaks.
Douglas presented the check herself on January 10.
