The Community Services Clearinghouse Guild is hosting the Second Annual True Grit Ride 100 on Saturday, June 22, 2013, beginning at 7:00 am at Ben Geren Park in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

The ride offers a non-competitive cycling tour for individuals of all abilities, including a 10, 35, 50, 75 and 100 mile True Grit routes. Chuck Wagon aid stations are roughly 10 miles apart.

New to the True Grit Ride this year is the 75 mile course for those who have mastered the 50 mile course but may still be in training for the 100. We are also adding a Pasta Party Dinner Friday, June 21,m 2013.

The True Grit Bike Ride has been established to offer an exciting opportunity to bike riders in the area as well as offering a large fundraising opportunity to support the Community Services Clearinghouse. The Clearinghouse is a well-established, (501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides emergency assistance to families and children in need throughout seven counties in Arkansas and Oklahoma. The most well-known program the Clearinghouse offers is the Meals for Kids backpack program, which distributes over 2,500 sacks of weekend food each Friday to children who otherwise would go hungry before returning to class on Monday.

The ride is open to local, state, and national participants. To register go to Charter Members are automatically registered each year. Support of the event expects to be large and will unite us in becoming "Out Spokin’ for others!"
