Joanna Allen, 11-year veteran missionary to Philippines, will speak this Saturday, May 18, at Denver Street Baptist Church. Allen is the daughter of Pastor George and Jerene Reddin of Greenwood, and will be speaking for the second annual SISTERS Mentoring Conference, a local conference for women and girls.
Allen will speak about "Beautiful Storms," the Divine process of transforming hard times into healing and beauty. The conference is sponsored by the women and girls of Denver Street Baptist Church and will be from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The conference and lunch are free, and the public is invited.
Also appearing as worship leaders will be the Asia-Pacific Women’s Conference Trio and special guests who will share their "Storm Stories."
A fund-raiser for Asia-Pacific Women’s Conference will feature the sale of gently-used media materials, such as books, cookbooks, children’s books, videos, DVD’s, CD’s, printed music and even scrapbooking materials – all at yard-sale prices. Carly Allen, 15-year-old daughter of Joanna Allen, will have original artwork for sale.
Women and girls 12 years and older may register for the free conference by calling Sherry at 870.543.9640. For further information, call Jerene at 501.733.0996.
