Alma, Ark. will play host to the 2013-2014 Miss Arkansas River Scholarship Pageant and Youth Pageants on November 2nd at the Alma Performing Arts Center. The Youth Pageant is a traditional natural beauty pageant open to young ladies who are full time residents of Arkansas. Divisions that will be held: Tiny Tot ages 0-18 months, Wee Princess ages 19-35 months, Tiny Princess age 3-4, Princess age 5-6, Little Miss age 7-8, Jr. Miss age 9-10 and Pre Teen age 11-12. All youth divisions will begin at 10 a.m. and the Outstanding Teen and Miss divisions will be held that evening starting at 7 p.m.
The Miss and Outstanding Teen Arkansas River Pageants are official preliminary pageants to Miss Arkansas Outstanding Teen and Miss Arkansas. Contestant must be 13-17 years of age and be a full time student. Miss contestants must be 17-24 years of age. Contestants must meet eligibility requirements according to official Miss Arkansas website and Miss Arkansas Outstanding Teen website. Miss and Outstanding Teen contestants must live in the counties of Franklin, Sebastian, Crawford, Johnson, and Logan to be eligible. A $2000 UAFS scholarship, a $5000 College of the Ozarks, and a cash scholarship will be awarded to the new Miss Arkansas River along with a prize package. Outstanding Teen winners and runners up in both divisions will also receive cash scholarships.
Miss Arkansas Amy Crain will be on hand for the event signing autographs and entertaining. A silent auction will also be held that day with items such as gift certificates, a recliner, a b-b gun, gift baskets, jewelry and more. All proceeds for the silent auction are given as scholarships.
