The South Sebastian County Historical Society will host an all-ages celebration of the Kentucky Derby from noon to 3 p.m. May 4 at the Old Jail Museum on the downtown square in Greenwood. The event is held in conjunction with the museum’s season opening and the SSCHS’s 50th anniversary.

Area performer Herschel Parker will play from 1-2 p.m., and the Dulcimer Darlings will perform from 2-3 p.m. Also included will be cookies and mint juleps, a hat contest, mule-drawn wagon rides, horseshoe games, prizes and tours of the Vineyard Log Cabin, Redwine Pioneer Schoolhouse, the Ole Barn and the Old Jail.
