The Fort Smith Area Amateur Radio Club presents the 15th Annual Hanging Judge Hamfest. This year’s event will be held on April 5 at 8 a.m. at the Knights of Columbus Activities Building (10203 Columbus Acres Road) in Fort Smith. There is a $10 fee at the door, but children 16 and under get in free.
This annual event brings in vendors from a multi-state area with new and used amateur radio gear for sale. There will also be hourly prizes drawn at the top of the hour with a grand prize being drawn at the close of the event.
There will be many forums to attend during the day concerning HAM radio. There will be a Volunteer Examiner available for those studying to become an Amateur Radio Operator or for those already holding a license who wish to upgrade.
Anyone wishing to explore interest in this hobby or with a desire to check out new technology in the field are encouraged to attend this one day event.
The Fort Smith Area Amateur Radio Club meets on the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the main conference room at the Health South Rehabilitation Hospital located at 1401 South J Street in Fort Smith. More information is available online at www.fsaarc.org.
