My name is Lauren Hearron. My mother’s name is Danielle Woodard. My mother is awesome. When I was only seven years old, she lost her mother (my grandmother) to Gallbladder cancer. Although this was a devastating time in her life, she managed to push through it and still be an amazing, caring mother. She and I are nothing alike and we are everything alike. She has been my best friend my entire life. I am so glad that I have had a mother like her. She taught me to be myself and to stand up for what I believe in, even if no one else felt the same way. She is a strong woman that has raised three children. I feel as though she doesn’t feel appreciated as much as she deserves to feel appreciated. She is actively involved in all of there children’s lives. I think losing her mother made her step back and understand that her family is the most important thing in her life. She has always done whatever she could to make us happy. The one thing that she did that I didn’t appreciate before now is that she gave us tough love. Even though we hated it at the time, we can appreciate it now because it made us stronger and in the end, was the better decision for us. My mother deserves this award because she has stood by her children no matter what. She deserves this because she did what was best for us no matter how we felt about her. She is an amazing woman and I look up to her. I hope I can be half as good of a mother to my children as she has been to my brothers and me.
