1996 GHS graduated and Greenwood Junior High Principal, Aaron Gamble, has been in education since 2000. Gamble started his career as a football coach working under Coach Peacock during his final year with Greenwood.
After one year of coaching Gamble dedicated himself to teaching taking over the calculus teacher position at the high school before taking the Assistant Principal position.
“I have loved my time in Greenwood,” said Gamble. “I have never taught anywhere else, I have never lived anywhere else. I have never called anywhere else home.”
Gamble stated that what drew him into education initially was athletics. After Aaron parents divorced when he was in the seventh grade coaches stepped in.
“Coaches filled the void,” said Gamble. “I had some high quality people as my coaches like Steve Peoples and Larry Bilyeu. I realized that I want to do what they are doing. I want to have the impact on young men the same what they have had on me.”
This is Gamble’s third year as the Junior High Principal and his tenth as an administrator.
Aaron has been married to his wife, Tara, for 19 years. The Gambles have two children Dacie and Landry.
