Former Greenwood City Alderman, Jerry Carter, has announced his bid for the Mayor’s office according to a press release.


Carter’s family history;


Lived in Greenwood for 70 years, Married to Sondra Carter. Two Children, Jerry Dale Carter, Shelly Kern (Carter) Seven Grandchildren and two Great grandchildren.

Owned two Auto Parts Stores


Worked for an Explosive Company as Manager, Division Manager (six States) Majority of the locations that I managed had an annual budget ten million dollars or more, I also served as HR supervisor and go-between the company and ATF for Compliance along with many other duties.

Due to the good heart of Betty Wilkinson and Farmers Bank acquired the present center for the Senior Citizens.


Along with then Senator Ed Wilkinson, started the Walking Trail. The Walking Trail was started for the Senior Citizens and with the generous help from Doctor James Burgess family, The trail expanded for the Citizens of Greenwood. The City of Greenwood and the Sebastian County Road Department also played a huge part in completing the project.

Goals;


Learn ALL duties and parameters for Mayor.


Work with Congressional individuals to bring industry to Greenwood.


Work closely with the Water Department to use all resources including personnel and equipment, enabling Greenwood to have the best water possible.


Update or create an Employee Handbook.


Update and/or create Employee Safety handbook along with Safety training meetings.
