Heber Springs High School 2018 graduate Jacob Bremmon was awarded a $1000 Arkansas Activities Association scholarship sponsored by Centennial Bank at an awards luncheon at the Holiday Inn Airport Hotel in Little Rock on May 24.

Bremmon was one of ten graduating seniors in the state to receive the award based upon athletic achievement and community service. This was the fourth year Centennial Bank sponsored the annual award, granting $10,000 each year to 5 young women and 5 young men. Bremmon is the first from Cleburne County to receive the scholarship since its beginning in 2014.

Each honoree was presented an engraved plaque along with their scholarship as a brief biography of their accomplishments and contributions to their communities was read to the guests.

Master of ceremonies and guest speaker, Eric King, congratulated the ten recipients on receiving the awards, stating that there had been more than 500 applicants competing for the scholarships. He went on to remind the new graduates to not forget where they came from as they go forth with their lives in pursuit of their dreams. He also advised them to show appreciation for their blessings throughout their journeys.
