Carrie Ciesla, daughter of Angel and John Ciesla, is the 2018 recipient of the Arl McConnell Memorial Scholarship. Each year the $1200 scholarship is presented to a senior entering the field of education. McConnell was principal of Greenwood High School in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s and was a great friend to GHS after his retirement. Carrie plans to attend John Brown University in Siloam Springs this fall and major in secondary education. While attending GHS Carrie was a member of the GHS Beta Club, National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, Student Council Reporter and Senior Class Vice-President. She was also a member of the 6A State Champion Volleyball Team. She is presented the scholarship by Greenwood Education Foundation Board Member, Gail Gilmore.
