Crime Watch 8/26/17
During a traffic stop, Eve Shamblin, 42 of Fort Smith was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. According to the police report the officer located a large amount of medication in Shamblin’s purse and a makeup bag that contained three needles, a plastic bag with white powdery residue, a spoon with white residue on it, a pack of rolling papers, a plastic straw that was burnt on one end with a white powdery residue on it and a shoelace that had been fashioned to be used as a tourniquet. Items with the white residue suspected to be methamphetamine were sent to the crime lab for testing. Shamblin was transported to the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center.
An officer was dispatched to Spruce st. in reference to criminal mischief. The officer spoke to the victim that stated he noticed scratch marks on the side of his truck and while walking around it noticed a nail positioned under each tire positioned to cause a puncture when the vehicle was backed out of the driveway. More reports of nails behind the tires of other vehicles in the neighborhood were then reported. A total of 14 vehicles were located with nine receiving damage due to the nails.
A minor was arrested for possessing instruments of crime after confessing to smoking marijuana during a traffic stop. A search of the vehicle turned up a smoking pipe a pack of rolling papers and a mason jar that had marijuana residue in it. The minor was taken to the Sebastian County Juvenile Detention Center.
