On 7-27-17 at around 11:15 am SCSO received a call from a juvenile subject that someone had broken into their home in the Shadow Lake area near Greenwood. It was learned from the call that two juvenile subjects (17 and 14) were in the home. The juvenile caller told 911 operators that they could hear glass breaking and someone going through their home. The juveniles hid in a bedroom as SCSO communications deputies kept them on the line until help arrived.

Units from SCSO and Greenwood Police Department responded. Units were on scene in a matter of minutes. Once on scene, a search of the residence took place and Quenton Barlow, 22, of Fort Smith was found hiding in a closet. In a search of Barlow incident to his arrest, a prescription bottle of 30 pills of schedule II narcotics was found on Barlow. The juveniles were found safe and unharmed by Barlow.

Barlow was charged with Residential Burglary, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, and Possession of a Controlled Substance, Schedule II.

It was learned Barlow was related to the residents of the home, but banned from the property. It was also learned Barlow had broken into the home previously and confessed to taking a handgun, a Play Station, and a tablet. He will be charged with this Residential Burglary as well.
