Lisa Jan-Bohne’ Clay’s study of art includes Impressionism. She offers a sketchy quality for a painting that brings energy and dramatic effect to a painting. She uses strokes of pure color for vibrancy that cannot be achieved with mixed color alone. At other times, she focuses on the fluid quality of a painting for a more restful emotion. The lighting, the startling effect of paint strokes and a dramatic perspective are used to create images with meaningful themes. Texture is added to strategic areas for emphasis and increased dramatic effect.

Ms. Clay studied art at the Memphis Academy of Art and Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. She continued in independent study under the direction of the accomplished artists, Roger Carlisle and John Keech. Ms. Clay has displayed in galleries in Augsburg Germany, San Antonio Texas, Little Rock, Rogers, Bentonville and in Ft. Smith.
