It is almost basketball season at Greenwood High School, and that means it’s time for the annual Basketball Tip-Off.

GHS senior boys basketball coach Greg Nichols said that Tip-Off is a “booster club event to introduce all basketball players who are in grades seven-12 to the public.”

Tip-Off will be held at GHS’ H.B. Stewart Bulldog Arena on Nov. 8 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Admission is $5, but that includes a meal. Nichols said there will be a choice between “hamburgers or chicken breast and you get a bag of chips, drink and a dessert.”

All of the proceeds from Tip-Off will go to the Greenwood Booster club, and money raised will go towards getting equipment for the athletes.

During Tip-Off, there will be some fun events that for fans to participate in. There will be raffles with prizes given away.

The senior boys basketball team will begin its season at Waldron on Nov. 15, and its first home game will be Nov. 29 against Springdale

The senior girls basketball team will begin its season at home on Nov. 15 against Bentonville.
