Come and get into the Halloween spirit on October 24 at 6:30PM in the Greenwood Performing Arts Center with the GHS Jazz Band. “Thriller” by Michael Jackson, “Lucrecia Mac Evil” by Blood, Sweat and Tears, and “Witchcraft” as recorded by Frank Sinatra are just some of the songs you’ll hear at this free “GHS Presents” Jazz Band concert.

The GHS Jazz Band consists of 22 members from the Greenwood High School band program that wish to further their musical skills through Jazz performance. Under the direction of Joel Sillivan, these members audition in the spring and are selected into this performing ensemble for the following school year. Andrew Morgan, UAFS student intern and 2006 Greenwood High School graduate, will be the guest conductor.

In addition to this free concert, the GHS Jazz Band will be accepting donations for the Make-a-Wish Foundation through in increments of $10, $20, $50, or $100.

“Helping any child, especially children with life threatening medical conditions should be a priority to all of us. Having our students in the GHS band make music for the benefit of other kids is something I hope will carry over into their adult lives,” states Sillivan, GHS band director for 14 years.

Donations from the show will benefit our community. For more information about the Season of Entertainment or Jazz Band concert, visit and enter “Greenwood Performing Arts” or call 996-4249.
