Dustin Graham, Greenwood Democrat

Mark you calendars for the upcoming fourth annual Bell Fun Fest at Bell Park on November 1 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Activities will include bounce a rounds, pony rides, face painting, a petting zoo, hay rides, games and much more.

A chuck wagon will be at the park serving either chili or cobbler.

Live entertainment will include: "The Mountain Man" Mike Ferguson, Mike Oliver, Brent Slater, Chris Wray and others.

The parks committee is looking for vendors, businesses, clubs, organizations and church group to participate in the festivities this year free of charge. "Nonprofits are more than welcome to come and set up their booths," said Parks Director Doug Kinslow. "Whether they want to raise money or just get the word out about their organization.

The Greenwood Police Departments will be on hand again this year help parents with the child I.D. program.

Admission to the Fun Fest will be a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Betty Wilkinson Senior Citizen Center.

The parks committee has been hard at work in Bell Park since last years Fall fest and has several pavilions that are currently under construction and a couple which have been completed. The committee has also run water lines, portable bathrooms and hopes to begin construction on the promenade by November 1.

"We want to invite the whole community to come," said Greenwood Parks Director Doug Kinslow. "We really want to use this as an opportunity to show off Bell Park. It is a beautiful park and a lot of people who are new to the area may not even know about it so we want to promote the park and the parks committee."

Anyone interested in sponsoring a booth at the festival can contact Kinslow at City Hall at 996-2742 for more information. The parks committee will also be accepting applications now for vendors and sponsors, the deadline for all applications is October 29 at 5 p.m.
